This workshop offered at Theatre NOVA is especially close to my heart and deserves it's own post.
It’s donation-based (or free!) because the work around consent-forward theatre is too important not to share. We want directors, stage managers, artistic directors, and producers to have access to this knowledge—no barriers, no gatekeeping.
Offering something that reflects my mission as a theatre artist and leader—and making it financially accessible, which is one of the values I hold most strongly—is deeply meaningful to me. We’re so lucky to have the incredible Kat Walsh teaching this for us.

Join us at Theatre NOVA for a consent-forward theatre leadership workshop designed specifically for directors, artistic directors, producers, and stage managers.
Consent-forward theatre informs and shapes power dynamics, trust, and artistic courage in the rehearsal room. This workshop introduces artistic directors, directors, producers, and stage managers to the five pillars of intimacy work: Context, Communication, Consent, Choreography, and Closure, offering a shared language for ethical, rigorous, and creatively expansive practice. We’ll explore how intimacy work strengthens the entire production process, in addition to scenes involving intimate moments. We’ll also tackle real-world leadership questions, such as whether members of a production team can hold intimacy responsibilities. The focus is on purpose and approach, equipping participants to build rehearsal rooms where artists and designers feel supported and inspired in the creative process.
